Mystic Ribbons

This is the first quilt that I feel like I really started "from scratch" by finding a pattern, selecting the fabrics, and cutting and piecing all the blocks. I'm posting these in the order that I started them, so by now I've actually finished a quilt including the machine quilting and binding...but this one still feels like the first even though it's not finished yet.

  • Pattern is adapted from a couple of different sources, but it is usually called "Ribbons"

  • I'm making this one for my husband, for a "TV Quilt"

  • I have 21 of 24 blocks finished so far. Shown are 12 blocks laid out, but not yet sewn together.

You have a great blog here. I love your quilts.
I'm going to set up a blog folder and put yours in it so I'll be sure and check back on a regular basis.
Oh yeah, be sure and check out Mary Ann's View. She is a nature photographer and puts some great pictures on her blog.

Wow Barb!! I haven't checked your blog in a while because (aHEM) you hadn't posted anything for so long. I zipped by today and my gosh look at you go!

Your Mystic Ribbon quilt is amazing! I keep threatening to get a sewing machine and actually learn how to use the danged thing. All previous attempts to conquer the evil Singer have failed. Those machines may as well be algebra to me. I'm inspired now, at least for the next 5 minutes. I'd love to learn to quilt.

Jean ~ I'm sure glad you posted a comment because, quite frankly, I had totally forgotten that I even have this blog! I'm hopeless.

I'm not surprised that you like Mystic Ribbons because it is for my husband is is inspired by Harry Potter and other things wizardly. I had sat it aside for a while, but am back with it now and the blocks are all finished and half are sewn together now.

Gee...maybe I should update the blog with my other quilt projects...not to mention a horse thought or two also?
